15 Bible Verses for Strength

There are seasons when willpower runs out. The to-do list outpaces the energy, the trial outlasts the coping, the prayer feels heavier than the answer. Scripture's answer to a depleted soul isn't "try harder" — it's a Person who strengthens, upholds, and renews. The verses below are some of the Bible's clearest words for the days you're empty.    Isaiah 41:10

   "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

   Strength isn't a personality trait you summon — it's a Person who shows up. He strengthens, helps, and upholds. Your part is to stop running from Him.

   Philippians 4:13

   "I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

   Paul wrote this in prison, talking about contentment in scarcity. The strength is real, but it's wired into Christ — not into self-confidence.

   Psalm 28:7

   "The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him."

   Trust came first. Help came second. Joy came third. The order matters when you're trying to find your footing.

   "He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.    Even the strong eventually empty out. Renewal is for the ones who stop trying to refill themselves and wait on Him.

   "But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

   God doesn't wait for you to get strong before He uses you. The weakness is the doorway His power walks through.

   Psalm 46:1

   "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

   Not a distant strength. A very present one. He's not waiting at the end of trouble — He's strength inside it.

   Joshua 1:9

   "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

   Courage is commanded — which means it's not a feeling you wait for. It's a step you take, anchored in His presence.

   "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might."

   Two different strengths in one verse. Yours runs out. His doesn't. The instruction is to live out of His.

   "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

   When the body fails and the heart fails, He doesn't. He becomes the strength inside the place that broke.

    "Then he said to them, "Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.""

    Strength has a surprising source: joy in the Lord. Not because the situation is fine — because He is.

    "GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places."

    Deer feet are sure on dangerous terrain. He doesn't always lower the mountain — sometimes He upgrades your footing.

    "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."

    Two never-promises sit underneath the courage: He won't fail you, He won't forsake you. That's the floor under your feet.

    "The God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless."

    He arms you — like a soldier going into the fight equipped, not improvising. Then He straightens the path you're walking.
